A significant shift in family travel planning is taking place across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, with 87% of Generation Alpha and Generation Z actively shaping travel decisions, particularly in China and India. Hilton’s 2025 Trends Report highlights how these younger travelers prioritize trips centered around sports, outdoor activities, and cultural pride.

They view travel as essential for personal growth, with 68% seeing it as key to education. Digital connectivity is also central, as APAC families spend up to four hours daily on devices during trips. Top travel motivations include sports events, nature experiences, and K-pop concerts, while Australia, Japan, and South Korea rank as preferred international destinations. Hilton is responding by tailoring its services to meet the evolving demands of this influential generation.

Generation Alpha Leads

“The growing influence of Generation Alpha on family travel signals a transformative shift in the travel industry – one that Hilton is excited to embrace,” said Ben George, senior vice president and commercial director, Asia Pacific, Hilton.

“As these trends accelerate, we recognize the importance of adapting to evolving preferences. Hilton is set to exceed 1,000 hotels in APAC by 2025, and we’re focused on creating new experiences to capture the imagination of this emerging generation and their families.”
