Airbus projects that the Asia-Pacific region will need 19,500 new aircraft by 2043, accounting for 46% of the global demand of 42,430 aircraft. This growth is driven by rising passenger traffic, e-commerce, and the replacement of older models.
Airbus anticipates demand for 16,000 single-aisle aircraft, like the A220 and A320neo, for regional routes, while 3,500 medium and large widebody aircraft, such as the A330neo and A350, will support long-haul travel and increased cargo needs. Fleet expansion is expected to make up 71% of deliveries, and 29% will replace older models, promoting decarbonization with new models that reduce fuel consumption by 25%.
Airbus Asia-Pacific
The A350F freighter, compliant with ICAO emissions standards, is set to lead Asia-Pacific’s cargo growth with a 250 aircraft demand expected for the segment.
With an annual passenger growth rate of 4.8%—above the global average—the Asia-Pacific market is expected to play a major role in the aviation industry’s expansion over the next two decades.
