Dr. Tan emphasized Singapore’s openness to global talent complementing local workers and highlighted government support for workforce training initiatives. Key findings from AmCham’s 2024 Manpower Survey included:

• Growing adoption of flexible work arrangements and family-friendly policies.

• Progress in gender diversity, though women in senior leadership roles remain underrepresented.

• Challenges in hiring Singaporeans for senior roles due to skill gaps and limited international exposure.

• Optimism regarding the preparedness of local graduates due to strengthened industry-academic collaboration.

• Persistent local hiring challenges in sales, marketing, and IT roles.

AmCham called for stronger business-government partnerships to address workforce challenges and ensure Singapore’s economic resilience and growth.
