Singapore Fleets Turn to AI to Optimise Transport Operations

SINGAPORE, July 27, 2026 – Logistics companies in Singapore are increasingly adopting artificial intelligence (AI)-powered fleet management systems to optimise routes, track vehicles, and monitor performance, reducing the need to purchase new vehicles amid high ownership costs.

Roger Calisto, CEO of Cartrack Technologies Asia, told Singapore Business Review: “Vehicles are very expensive in Singapore… it places a huge amount of importance on making sure that your assets are being utilised efficiently and to their maximum capacity.”

Analysts said AI and real-time data help reduce idle time, improve route planning, and ensure vehicles carry cargo instead of travelling empty. Mark Goh of the Logistics Institute-Asia Pacific noted connected vehicle technology improves efficiency rather than growth. AI also enhances driver safety through fatigue detection and predictive maintenance.

High implementation costs remain a hurdle, especially for SMEs, but experts argue mindset, not cost, is the biggest barrier to adoption.
